I've got my retropie all up and running, and I see multiple options for mame. I've compared the compatibility lists and some are obviously better than others. However, most of the games I want (save for ninja baseball batman) are available in all the emulators.I'm planning on building an arcade board from an ipac controller (it's in the mail now.) so I'd like to use the one that is best adapted to that specific controller. If I have to sacrifice a game or two from my list, I'll live, as long as it works with my controller.I'm just wondering why one is preferred over another. Are some builds more stable than others or something?Also, if I go through and get all the game art and stuff from gamesdb and then later on move the rom zip files to another mame folder, will it retain all the art and stuff I have chosen for my games?
